Oregano Growing Tips and Advice |
Oregano, which enhances the flavor of your beans in your garden, also repels insects that bother your broccoli. It's a terrific companion herb. This perennial likes to be thirsty, so it thrives well in sunny, dry climates in temperatures of about 60-70 degrees F.
Planting OreganoIf you start with seeds, sprinkle them indoors in a container. Do not press the seeds down or cover them with soil. You should then mist them and cover with plastic. Thin plants 10 to 12 inches apart after they grow to be about 6 inches. You might also cut back the flowers to stimulate growth. Your plants may need to be replaced every 2-4 years when they become woody.
