Celery Growing Tips and Advice

Celery needs a particularly long cool-weather season, so it is ideal for New England and other cooler regions. Celery needs rich, sandy loam and lots and lots of water. You also should fertilize monthly.

Planting Celery

Place seeds about 1/8 inch deep and keep them covered and damp. When you transplant, set plants 6-10 inches apart and keep the soil very moist and shaded. Blanch to make stalks tender.

Days to Harvest: 100-130 days
Days to Germinate: 9-21 days
