Carrot Growing Tips and Advice

Carrots need plenty of water and nitrogen (about 1 cup per 100 square feet), though you shouldn’t use a weed and feed fertilizer.

Planting Carrots

You cannot transplant carrots, so be sure to plant your seeds directly after the last frost. When the roots are ¾ inches in diameter at the upper end, your carrots should be ready to harvest. Push the root to the side and pull it out of the ground.

Days to Harvest: 70-100 days
Days to Germinate: 6-21 days
